The presentation portion of the afternoon session will begin with a brief update on the latest developments at the Canadian Securities Exchange provided by Richard Carleton, CEO of the CSE, followed by a great lineup of speakers including Angela Blake Partner - Corporate Finance, Securities and M&A at Clark Wilson LLP, Matt Zabloski of Delbrook Capital and Joe Mazumdar of Exploration Insights.
A networking reception will follow and will include cocktails and appies as well as the chance to meet with representatives from the CSE and Clark Wilson LLP.
Richard Carleton - CEO of CSE - Canadian Securities Exchange
Richard Carleton is the CEO of CNSX Markets Inc. In this role he is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Canadian Securities Exchange. Prior to this appointment, Richard served as Vice-President Corporate Development with responsibility for the technology, operations and trading sales teams for the CSE.
Prior to joining the exchange, Richard worked as a business development consultant, after spending twelve years with the Toronto Stock Exchange, serving most recently as a member of the exchange’s senior management team. Active in industry affairs, Richard served two terms as chair of the market data industry’s global trade association in the late 1990's, is a frequent panelist at market structure and trading technology events and serves as a member of the TMX Information Processor Governance Committee.
A member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1987, Richard is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (B.A. ’81) and the University of Toronto (LL.B. ’85). He has also completed the executive development programme at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Matt Zabloski – Founder / Lead Portfolio Manager - Delbrook Capital
Mr. Zabloski is the Managing Director of Delbrook Capital Advisors, which he founded in 2010. He has over 15 years of capital markets experience, 6 years of which were spent as a Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Management and Research Company, one of the world’s largest asset management firms. At Fidelity, Mr. Zabloski managed over a billion dollars in sector focused capital, consistently ranking among the top performing investment managers. He began his career in the corporate finance and advisory group of RBC Capital Markets, focusing on the materials and industrial sectors. In 2008 Mr. Zabloski co-founded Cambridge Advisors, a Boston, Massachusetts based investment manager that grew from less than $10 million to nearly a billion dollars in assets under management during its first two years of business. At Cambridge, Mr. Zabloski managed its Growth Fund product and aided in the development of a global research platform. Mr. Zabloski holds an MBA and an Honors BA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario.
Joe Mazumdar – Co-editor / Analyst @ Exploration Insights
Joe Mazumdar is an Economic Geologist/Analyst at Exploration Insights. Prior to that he was a senior mining analyst at Haywood Securities, then Canaccord Genuity. His work experience includes Director of Strategic planning, Corporate development at Newmont and Senior market analyst/trader at Phelps Dodge. Mazumdar also worked in technical roles for IAMGOLD in Ecuador, North Minerals in Argentina/Chile and Peru, RTZ Mining and Exploration in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador and MIM Exploration and Mining in Queensland, Australia, among others. Mazumdar has a Bachelor of Science in geology from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science in Geology and Mining from James Cook University and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines.
