Accounts Administrator
CNQ is presently looking for an Accounts Administrator to join their team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The administrator will provide support to managers and employees and ensures the smooth operation of the department. The hours of work are 9am to 5:00pm, 4 days a week. Launched in July 2003, the Canadian Trading and Quotation System Inc. (“CNQ”) is the first stock exchange to be formally recognized in Ontario in 70 years. CNQ operates two markets: a listed market that meet the needs and characteristics of emerging companies, their investors and investment dealers; and Pure Trading, a high performance, low cost market offering trade execution services for equity securities listed on other Canadian trading venues.

Role Description/Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and all related payroll tasks

  • Perform HR functions and administration of the Benefit Plan

  • Respond to inquiries from management and employees regarding HR Policies and procedures, benefits coverage, vacation entitlements and absences etc.

  • Maintain accurate information in employee files, ensure all “paperwork” is complete

  • Administer group benefits, enrolling new employees and making changes to existing employee plans

  • Check payroll processing reports for errors

  • Process accounts payable and receivables

  • Extensive reporting on Excel

  • Other related duties as required and/or requested

      Experience/Skills/Special Requirements:

    • Minimum 2 years experience in Human Resources Management & processing A/P & A/R work.

    • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues

    • Superior organizational skills

    • Problem solving skills

    • Self motivated and able to prioritize competing demands

    • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

    • Experience working with Quick Books and computerized accounting systems

    • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills

    • Communicates (written and verbal) in a clear, fluent and concise fashion

    • Responds quickly, professionally and with respect to employee requests and provide appropriate solutions

    • Can effectively explain problems or challenges to their manager
